Thanks to all who signed up

The trip is now full!
If you have not sent in all
your signed forms please do so ASAP. Watch your email for

The plans for our Spring Break Mission
Trip to Rural Missions on John’s Island, SC are well on
under way. We will be building upon the successful model
that has been established through the past trips to John’s
Island, but I can assure you that this trip will insure an
original experience. We will have a new mix of adult
chaperones, a new set of projects to complete and new
friends with whom to build relationships and community.
Each day will bring challenge and reward, and I am sure that
we will be constantly reminded of just how blessed we are to
be able to celebrate the goodness of life and the grace of
God with one another.
We will be following the same basic
itinerary that
has been used on past trips. We are planning to leave
from South Church on Friday, April 16th at 5:00am
(morning). We will spend Friday night in
Fredericksburg, Virginia. We will then continue on to Rural
Missions in South Carolina arriving sometime during the
evening of Saturday, April 17th.
We will sleep and eat at Rural Missions until we
leave on the morning of Saturday, April 24th.
We will again stay over in Fredericksburg with the intention
of returning back to South Church by 7:00pm on Sunday, April
25th.
The cost of
the trip has not been finalized. It is subject to
Youth Board approval, and may be influenced by the number of
participants that sign up. We estimate that the cost of
attending the trip will be approximately $500.00. It is
important to us that every South Church youth has the chance
to participate, and scholarships are available on a
confidential basis to anyone that may otherwise be excluded
due to the cost of the trip. Inquiries should be made to
Rev. Jonathan Drury or Ted Harris.
Sign up for the trip will be handled on a
first come first served basis (~ 45 youth slots available).
To insure yourself a place on the trip, it is necessary to
get a $100.00 non-refundable deposit & all completed forms
to Ted Harris on or before by March 1st (checks
should be made out to South Church). By Friday, April
2nd, we will have established the trip roster,
set the final total cost for the trip and communicate the
balance due to all registered.
If the trip is fully booked we will maintain a wait
list of reservation requests that are secured with a
deposit. Full payment of the fee balance is due by
April 9th.
We would appreciate early completion of this
paperwork to minimize the last minute hassles. All
reservation requests, payments and
permission form
and release
may be sent or delivered to either of the following
addresses:
