Solar Panel Information
  • At the annual meeting, the Trustees and the Green Team presented a proposal to install solar panels on the south roof of the church. These panels could generate 40 to 80 percent, depending on the system size, of the electricity we use at the church. Solar electricity is much better for the environment than electricity produced by burning coal or gas. And, we would save money on our electric bill.

We're pleased the congregation strongly supported the concept and authorized the Trustees to negotiate with potential suppliers, and to make a specific final recommendation for congregational approval. We are planning to work on this diligently, and hope to have a special congregational meeting within one month.

Here is a photo of how the solar panels will appear on the roof.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact: Dave Bryan, Candy Dann, Ted Jenkins or Bill Schroeder.

PS: These solar system suppliers are also doing residential projects. If you've been thinking of installing solar at your house, now is a good time!
